Black Adam
Black Adam is let free from his earthly grave, some 5,000 years after being endowed with the enormous powers of the Egyptian gods—and imprisoned just as swiftly—and is prepared to wreak his particular brand of justice on the contemporary world.

His recovery from a desert tomb, going by the name Teth-Adam, is both a miracle and a curse for the people who prayed for protection from the corporate-mercenary thugs who have been oppressing them and strip-mining their land for years.

The end effect occasionally comes out as the DC response to the "Black Panther" pop cultural quake, serving up an Afro-Futurist sensibility with a Middle Eastern influence and using colonized areas as its setting.

However, its politics are more firmly established and less tainted. "Black Adam" is adamantly anti-imperialist to the core; it even compares the Avengers-style team dispatched to apprehend and imprison Black Adam to a United Nations "intervention" force that the locals don't want since it exacerbates the situation. Even more of a surprise given that the storyline is based on monarchs and genealogy is the fact that the film is anti-royalist.

Collet-film Serra's respects its audience and seeks to earn that audience's regard in its boisterous, unrelenting, overblown manner. The movie "Black Adam" provides the audience all they desired and even more.

Plane (2023)

Plane (2023) IMDb  Rating - 6.6/10 Director-  Jean-Francois Richet Writers Charles Cumming J.P. Davis Run Time - 1h 47m Plane (2023) Recall how every January or February, Liam Neeson started a tradition of releasing a corny action/thriller? Neeson looks to have left that company, allowing Gerard Butler free to enter via the open door. Butler exhibits a similar level of on-screen charisma to Neeson (but without the Oscar nomination) and demonstrates his ability to portray the heroic everyman role. He's stuck with a dull title (who could think of anything more catchy than Plane?) and a duller storyline, but that's standard fare for action movies with an '80s vibe. The largest error made by Lionsgate, the movie's distributor, was to release it in theaters as opposed to negotiating a contract with a major streaming service. The plot of Plane resembles a cross between Rambo and Airport (a 1980 parody of the 1970s disaster-in-the-sky franchise Airport) (insofar as that was a...

An island, a sumptuous dinner, and an odd guest list are sure signs of a brutal murder, as any casual reader of whodunits knows.    While on his honeymoon, screenwriter Will Tracy had supper at the Cornelius Sjmat restaurant in Norwa...
